Dear Ms. Rodriquez:
Thank you so much for the invitation for this momentous day of celebration. We regret that we will be unable to attend from Detroit, though our thoughts will be with you. We are grateful to Senators Durbin and Obama, and Congressmen Costello and Clay, Jr. for their tireless effort in making this wonderful day a reality. We rejoice with you here in Detroit, as we are planning our own 8-day celebration of the Legacy of Katherine Dunham. Our thought and prayers will be with all those who are able to attend the glorious celebration.
